YAMUNA® BODY LOGIC
This is Yamuna’s Master work. This means all other work comes from this work. This is a great work for assessing any structural issue and actually healing it. From a session of YBL® a practitioner will know exactly what YBR® routines to recommend for self healing. This is a very detailed and highly organized hands-on therapy. It is recommended that anyone wanting to begin YBR® who has a problem start here if possible. Through one session a practitioner works the entire body working every joint in every range of motion looking for restrictions and possible causes for the specific problem. The entire body is worked in most cases to see how the body has compensated and what all the parts are actually doing to contribute to the pain or problem pattern. The quality of bone, muscle, other soft tissue and alignment are focused on throughout the sessions.
Usually 3 sessions are recommended to fully assess and begin corrections so the client knows that healing and mending is possible. Once a client is stabilized the necessary YBR® routines are taught. The goal is always to make each client independent.
This is a 2 year training which meets 9 weeks. It is recommended that either a person is already a licensed massage therapist with several years experience or is a certified YBR® practitioner with a t least 2 years of experience.
This work is not like any other hands-on therapy trainings. Yamuna has never been influenced by any other type of massage or hands-on therapy techniques. The work begins with assessing alignment and from there works the order of the body in a very specific way. The legs are aligned and freed down from the pelvis through each joint to the feet. From the pelvis the entire spine is worked from the tip of the coccyx up to the cranium aligning and creating inter-vertebral space all the way up. Then the cranium is worked from back to front and the anterior body is worked down through to the front of the legs and pelvis.
The first year is divided up into 4 sessions of 5 days each:
Session 1 covers the anatomy of the legs and works all the muscles and bones of the legs from every possible range of motion to align and free all joints and movement potential
Session 2 covers the detail of the back; the vertebrae and all supportive muscles both superficial and deep.
Session 3 covers the anterior torso from the front of the neck through the pelvis connecting to the front of the legs. This session also begins basic cranial work connecting the back of the cranium to the front.
Session 4 introduces the sideline of the body. This is a very original concept of working the body from the side to bring the anterior and posterior muscles into balance. It also works the entire shoulder joint, ribcage, and neck
The second year introduces all the detail of the body:
The first session is concerned with the entire foot. It addresses all foot problems and how to correct other body parts through the foot. The detail of the anatomy of the bones and muscles of the feet are covered and how to set them into correct alignment. Also aligning the feet to the knees to correct knee ailments is also addressed.
The second session is a very detailed focus on freeing the entire ribcage, front, back and sides and what this has to do with freeing the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spines as well as correcting shoulder problems.
The third session focuses on correcting problems of the hands, wrists, and forearms. The work begins in the hands working each bone and muscle correcting alignment in the hand and up through the wrists to the elbow. The work finally connects all the way up to the shoulders and neck
The fourth session is a review of all the segments and a practice of focusing on the details for problem solving. This session also covers all new work that Yamuna has created or improved upon during the time of the training.
